Passed a charity bike run of 104 miles and 2759 riders...slowed progress but fun to watch them pedaling by http://ridedcc.com/routes/hurricanes_hundred
Neat little room in throwback motel... owner seems to be really good guy..has had it for about 12 years..Lots to see since we are very close to Hollywood Fl. Went to Walmart for supplies and have never seen one more jammed... and was typical South Florida crowd.
Last nite (2/9) looked like rain so went looking for bathing suit. Looking for mall and ended up at Aventura Mall. Full of all the high dollar stores you've heard of .. on way out it was sprinkling and by the time we got to car we were soaked...caught in downpour. Had clothes that need picked up... we had sent out for wash and fold...good deal at 90 cents/lb. Had Chinese nearby so had dinner there..good day and caught up on a couple things and still got some sun.
Tue..2/10.. we just hung around the room and beach. To bed about 11 so was ready to go a little before 7. Hadn't been up to see if the sun comes over the Atlantic so went over for a couple pics... turned out pretty good. Finished my walk, took a couple more pics, and when got back, John, the motel owner said we could stay until Monday... which we intend to do.
Did not leave the island today...11th...sunned then watched the mounties... think ACB wants to go to France after she took this picture....
Friday the 13th..more of same... stayed at room, sunned and took a walk...living here today..not vacationing.
Saturday..14th...Valentines Day...I took an hour walk while Mom messed in room... when I got back we went to beach until Mounties game. Cooler than normal but was good on beach as long a wind didn't blow too hard
Sunday....our last day here for now... took 3 mile walk to Hollywood Beach and back then to our beach.. hate to leave but happy to have discovered this spot.
Left Sunshine Motel today Feb 16, 2015 ...not happily...had good room and good time there but with only 7 rooms hard to get one when people who have stayed there before know how neat a place it is.
Moved across the intercoastal to a Motel 6 that seemed ok and is... but very basic..no fridge...no even a small one... would have probably looked further had I known it didn't have one. Will work for a few days though until we get back on the island.
Florida does a great job with their parks along the ocean
Example of shrubbery to keep peons from seeing their mansions.
Part of 2759 charity bike riders
Little poocheykins in Mommy's Lexus
Annette sitting in front of fountain in our throwback motel...neat place
Clean as a pin.. and built about the same time as our house...note the wall tile in bathroom...feel right at home.
Nice love seat and chair...all we need.
Little kitchen area to hold our supplies of food and drink
