Wednesday February 5th ...Fort Pierce to Vero Beach to Frostproof and Camp Inn

 Left Ft. Pierce Wednesday 2/5 because our room had been rented...not owners fault... we had decided to stay and had not made an additional night reservation. Stopped at the Manatee Center but they were still out to lunch.. saw one yesterday but just barely above water...

After leaving there we changed our plans and went to Lake Wales then to Camp Inn...Just felt like I needed to go one more time. The last time there was not a good experience and I wanted to see his place under favorable terms... I had some of my best times ever with Mom and Dad there and wanted to see again on my terms.Called Bob, Dad's best bud, and he seemed genuinely happy that I wanted to stop by. He showed me all he had done to the place. Bob is taking care of a 99 year old one legged lady. She had to have a leg amputated and Bob has taken care of her and helped heal the stub that the docs said would not heal. There is no relationship between the two except kind humanity and a joy of life... he is an amazing man.

Put a roof over the walkway to the "WV Terlet" for Gila... the one legged 99 year old lady

Still amazed that Mom and Dad built this... but now with AC

Bob took out the plastic windows and put used ones in their place, insulated the underpinning behind the chair you see and now the place is easy to heat and cool.

Took out the tub and turned the bathroom into a walk in closet.

Bob took out the trailer size fridge and made a cupboard... and used the bathroom door for the cupboard door.

Nearly full size fridge in corner now.

No one can take his place but I'm sitting at the chair in his position... same table  but leaf taken out.

Bob and Gila... both full of life...

Proud to know this guy ... was wonderful to Dad and a wonderful human being. Were it not for him the one legged lady would have to be in nursing home in my opinion. Cannot imagine a non relative being as kind as he has be to her.

Looks a little messy but still lots to be done and Bob does it all by himself when he isn't playing shuffle board and cards with Gila and taking care of her...an amazing man.

Good bye Camp Inn... you were good for my folks and I will be forever grateful to Florida for keeping them alive.
